I’m Elizabeth Millen, Owner, Photographer, IT gal, Blogger, Artist, Designer… You name it, and I probably do it for my business Elizabeth Lee Millen Images. Most days, if I am not somewhere with my camera in hand photographing something or someone, you can find me sitting at my desk editing and obsessing over my latest photo project, or at a local café grabbing a coffee with a client. When I am not busy working I can be found out and about, running errands for my family, or at home doing laundry and keeping things in order around the house. There is always a load of laundry to be done, isn’t there? In the evenings, if I am not at a meeting with a client going through their gorgeous proofs and helping them decide on what to order and hang on their wall, I am either at dance class (yes, I take an adult hip-hop dance class and we are killing it!), taking one of my daughters to dance class, or enjoying the evening at home with my husband, our two daughters and our son.
I am mostly known for my out-going, fun loving, easy to be around personality, as well as my excellent work ethic and reliability. With regard to my photography I am often told by the clients I work with that sessions with me are relaxing and fun. That’s important to me, because when there is joy it makes the results that much better. I would also describe myself as creative, passionate, detail oriented and artistic with my approach to every project or session.
I photograph engaged couples, weddings, families, newborns, teens, high school seniors, and even a few pets here and there, too. I have been told over the years I should find a specialty and focus on that within my business, but I really enjoy the variety of projects and switching gears every once in a while. I am an artist and I thrive on change. I believe that every new situation is unique. I look forward to customizing each session to perfectly fit what or whom I am photographing.
Over the years my husband Andrew has become a very essential part of my business. It’s quickly becoming our business, not just mine. If you chose to work with me, it’s likely that Andrew will be with me. For family sessions in the evenings he’s my assistant; he carries my gear, he shares his opinion on the location, the set-up, and the light we are working with. If we are photographing a wedding he can also be found with a camera in-hand. He shares the same love and passion for photography that I have and captures the most beautiful moments. For the past few years our “date nights” have been photographing a session and then grabbing little dinner out after. We love working together whenever possible.
I am inspired by the love and joy that I am able to witness and photograph. My clients give me a gift of documenting their lives and in return I give them beautiful images from a moment in time that they can keep forever with heirloom quality fine art prints. I am thankful and lucky to be doing what I do for a living.
